Residences
Residence is appropriate to the needs of each student. Younger students occupy on-campus halls of residence, where facilities and routines aim to encourage personal maturity and independence. Older students occupy houses and flats close to the College. Students may request changes to their allocated accommodation.
A full programme of independent living skills training is available for all our students, each student being assigned a Nominated Worker.
The residential support team is dedicated to supporting students both through the college day, evenings and at weekends.
The role of the support team is:
- To support students in their efforts to learn independence and to deliver training programmes which address student needs
- To provide confidential guidance and counselling on a range of issues
- To act in a parental type role for those students who are newly away from home or need additional support and guidance
- To liaise with parents, family and friends in order to maintain links
- To ensure medical needs are met
